Performs routine scrub duties according to AORN standards and established policies and procedures of the department of surgery. Assists in the maintenance of a safe environment for all. Keeps current and operating room techniques, procedures, instruments, supplies and equipment; assists with the ongoing Performance improvement Program. Required to work flexible hours and be on call nights, weekends, and holidays. Assists with annual performance evaluations and competencies. Qualifications Education: Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of an approved operating room technician program. Experience: Required: Minimum 2 years experience as an OR Surgical Technologist and 1 year experience in general Experience in assisting in ordering general supplies for procedures Experience in oversight of maintenance and care of surgical instruments & equipment Certifications: Required: AHA BLS. Preferred: Surgical Technologist Certification.
