Mechanical Superintendent

Essential Functions Actively supports the Company’s commitment to safety and its “Core Values.” Represents the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company’s “Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.” Plans and supervises work activities, determining method of construction, safety procedures and requirements, manpower levels, material quantities, equipment, temporary power sources, work schedule, and documents actual hours worked. Oversees all precision of rotating and static equipment. Coordinates assigned work with different crafts, company departments, and/or other contractors. Maintains liaison with safety department, engineering, estimating, and planning to ensure work complies with safety policies, drawings, specifications, and schedules. Assists in resolving construction problems and safety issues, as required. Conducts accident investigations with safety department, as required. Maintains communication with the HR Department to resolve issues of requisitioning required manpower. Monitors craft compliance with project safety program requirements, documents and ensures corrective measures are implemented. Maintains liaison with other departments (Material Control, Purchasing, Quality Control, and Engineering) to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc., support craft activities and project schedule. Conducts field safety audits, as required, and maintains a complete understanding of Corporate Safety Manual and requirements. Performs additional responsibilities, as directed. Qualifications 6+ years’ experience in similar facility, including construction technology, methods, equipment, tools, and work procedures; 1+ years’ experience supervising craft employees. 4-year engineering degree or equivalent combination of technical training and experience. Advanced understanding of construction scheduling cost control. Ability to supervise large groups. Demonstrated ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize performance. Excellent oral and written communication skills; good computer skills including MS Word and Excel.
