Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in protecting, promoting, and optimizing health and abilities. Job Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients, acting as the primary or accountable nurse as designated by unit assignment.
• Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management using available resources.
• Administer medications safely and in accordance with established policies.
• Contribute to effective resource utilization including staffing, time management, and supply management.
• Ensure compliance with nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.
• Participate in and support the Nursing Shared Governance Model and improvement initiatives.
• Engage in professional development and complete mandatory education requirements.
• Integrate nursing research and current evidence into practice.
• Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.
• Embrace and embody organizational values in daily practice.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

• Six months to three years of nursing (RN) experience.
• Up to three years of management experience.
• Over five years of direct clinical experience.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills (verbal and written).
• Judgment and critical thinking capabilities.
• Organizational and planning skills including time management.
• Effective problem-solving abilities.
• Commitment to quality, reliability, safety, and risk management.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting.

Education

• Required: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
• Preferred: Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.

Certifications & Licensure

• Required: Current RN License in New York State.
• Required: BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
• Preferred: Professional certification in a related nursing specialty.
• Preferred: Relevant skills certification (i.e., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) as required by the unit assigned.

Languages

Fluency in English (read, write, speak).

Schedule Notes

Travel RN MedSurg-Tele Float Pool position; nights from 7 PM to 7:30 AM, 36 hours per week. BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
