Pharmacy Technician

Job Title: Pharmacy Floor TechnicianJob Description

Join our dynamic team as a Pharmacy Floor Technician, where you will play a crucial role in preparing prescriptions for final verification by a pharmacist. This position is for the AM shift, scheduled from 8am to 4:30pm, with every other weekend required from 10am to 6:30pm.

Responsibilities

• Fill daily drug orders accurately and efficiently in a timely manner under the supervision of a pharmacist.

• Assist in processing returned drugs and recycle/dispose per procedure.

• Prepack frequently ordered medications, label, and store as needed during low volume times.

• Package materials and products manually.

• Pull/pick medications from shelving and other medication storage areas and prepack racks.

• Apply labels to blister cards and scan products for accuracy check.

• Alert the pharmacist on duty of any medication/product that is not scanning properly.

• Maintain designated workstation areas and replenish all stock supplies needed.

• Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA.

• Be available for overtime, holidays, and weekends as required.

• Comply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• High School diploma or equivalent.

• Ability to work at a moderate speed.

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

• Possess and maintain a clear and active IL Pharmacy Technician License issued by the IL Board of Pharmacy.

• Active National Pharmacy Technician Certification through PTCB or NHA.

• Minimum of 1 year experience as a pharmacy technician.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous pharmacy technician experience is preferred.

• Experience from a closed-door pharmacy is preferred but not required.

Work Environment

This role requires the ability to sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently during the day, with the possibility to sit or stand for seven to ten hours per day. It may be necessary to work extended hours as needed. The position requires finger dexterity to operate office equipment and may require lifting up to twenty-five pounds on occasion. Visual acuity to see and read fine prints is necessary, along with specific vision abilities including close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to hear normal voice sounds. A 10% shift differential will be added to base pay for hours worked after 5pm.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Burr Ridge, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
