Technician II

Ground Support Equipment Technician / Mechanic

We are seeking a ground support equipment technician/mechanic with a minimum of three years of hands-on, in-depth experience in the inspection, repair, and overhaul of ground support equipment used in aviation ground operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect, service, troubleshoot, repair, replace, and overhaul ground support equipment and components such as chassis, body, drive-train components, engines, transmissions, electrical systems, fuel systems, running gear systems, and A/C supply, compression and delivery systems.
• Able to read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Perform preventative and routine maintenance such as oil changes, replacing/adding coolant and fluids, brake and tire changes, etc., on ground support equipment.
• Able to safely and legally operate a motor vehicle.
• Complete forms connected with work assignments according to established procedures.
• Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in an effective, safe working condition.
• Report any safety violation, machining equipment misusage, and/or properly performed work to supervisor or lead.
• Responsible for complying with the rules and regulations set forth by federal, local, and state government, Mercury GSE, and HSE Procedures.
• Keep work area clean and free of any safety hazards.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. Mercury GSE reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Three plus years of in-depth experience in ground support equipment
• Provide and maintain a complete set of tools necessary to perform job
• Possess and maintain a valid class C driver’s license
• Valid ASE certification or other Diesel certification is a plus
• Must be able to secure proper airport authority security badges.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with the role.
