Overview Job Summary: The Manager on Duty is responsible for monitoring the activities of the club, ensuring a pleasurable visit for all members of the Village. Responsibilities Conduct an hourly walk-through around the entire club. Frequently walk the front and employee parking lot during daytime hours. Be available at all times to Front Line Staff. Assist Front Desk with busy times. Monitor staff in all Departments in Department Managers absence. Ensure club cleanliness. Be available to give tours if membership is busy or closed. Identify out-of-place items, fix to the best of your ability, and notify all parties involved. Report all maintenance items to Maintenance. Report member concerns/comments to General Manager. Report employee concerns to the Employee’s Department Manager. Complete Accident/Incident Reports as MOD and place in AGM’s mailbox. Ensure closing routines are completed at closing time (doors locked, tennis lights off, drawers counted and dropped, etc.). Introduce yourself to 3 new Members each MOD shift. Ensure that children are supervised at all times. Ensure that club rules are adhered to at all times. Knowledge/Skills Required Current Department Head and/or at least one year of club experience preferred. Ability to respond quickly and communicate effectively. Excellent analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills. Must be change adaptive, flexible, and empathetic. Demonstrate initiative to think, work, and make independent decisions based on sound judgment. Willing to "roll-up" sleeves and dig in with staff to drive processes that support the business. Must have current CPR certification within 30 days of hire through Company training. Required Abilities Physical Activity: Daily standing, walking, lifting, grasping, bending and kneeling around the club. Sitting for some periods. Repetitive movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Ability to convey detailed spoken instructions. Perceiving sounds at normal speaking levels. Ability to receive detailed information through written and oral communication. Physical Requirement: Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Visual Requirement: Close visual acuity to perform data preparation, reading, and monitoring. Working Conditions: Indoor and outdoor environment; exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, and extreme warm temperatures, plus typical office work and outdoor activity.
