Assistant Professor of Educational Studies Position Summary The interdisciplinary Educational Studies Program at Trinity College, located in Hartford, Connecticut, seeks a tenure‑track Assistant Professor in Community‑Based Education. The successful candidate will contribute to Trinity’s strengths of community‑engaged learning and high‑quality liberal arts education by teaching and researching in the area of community‑based education, broadly defined. The candidate will support our program’s learning goals, including a commitment to educational equity and justice, and has experience with philosophical, historical, geographical, participatory, quantitative, or other non‑qualitative methodologies. Responsibilities Teach core courses in the educational studies program, including an introductory urban education course with participant‑observation placements in Hartford public schools. Support Trinity’s Community Action Gateway for first‑year students. Engage in research related to community‑based education and pursue opportunities for collaboration with Trinity’s Center for Hartford Engagement and Research and the Center for Urban and Global Studies. Participate in departmental service activities and contribute to the academic community. Qualifications Doctorate in education or a related discipline completed before August 2027. Demonstrated commitment to educational equity and justice. Experience with participatory, quantitative, or other non‑qualitative research methodologies. Strong teaching record in undergraduate education in diverse settings. Compensation Competitive salary and benefits, plus a start‑up expense fund and annual research funds for conference travel.
