Job Description

Join a Skokie-based Apple device buyback company that partners with schools and businesses to refurbish and process Apple products. In this role, you support warehouse and repair operations by cleaning, packing, organizing, and assisting with basic device handling so that inventory flows smoothly and all products meet internal quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Support the repair department by helping ensure all completed repairs meet company quality standards.
• Assist with tracking incoming inventory for the repairs department and keep items organized according to company procedures.
• Help disassemble, inspect, and reassemble devices under guidance, including identifying and handling defective parts as directed.
• Sort and place items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to organizational standards and labeling requirements.
• Keep the warehouse and all workstations clean, organized, and free of clutter to maintain a safe and efficient work area.
• Perform repetitive tasks such as cleaning, packing, and basic assembly or operating tasks with consistency and accuracy.
• Record work performed in an accurate, clear, and timely manner using basic computer tools or company systems.
• Operate and help maintain warehouse equipment and supplies in accordance with company standards and safety guidelines.
• Wear assigned safety equipment at all times and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Follow quality service standards and adhere to all company procedures, rules, and regulations during daily tasks.
• Communicate and cooperate effectively with coworkers and supervisors to coordinate work and resolve issues.
• Support productivity by handling requests in a timely manner and meeting expected throughput goals.
• Work independently with minimal supervision while prioritizing tasks and delivering high-quality work.
• Contribute ideas to improve and optimize workflows, organization, and cleanliness within the warehouse.
• Remain flexible and willing to be cross-trained and flexed to other departments as needed to meet business demands.

Essential Skills

• Experience performing very repetitive work such as basic assembly, operating, cleaning, or packing in a production or warehouse environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and quality.
• Strong attention to detail, especially when cleaning, inspecting, or packing items.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others and communicate clearly with coworkers and supervisors.
• Basic computer skills to record work performed and follow simple digital instructions.
• Ability to learn new tasks quickly and apply feedback to improve performance.
• Comfort with both sitting and standing throughout the shift and performing light physical tasks.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, company procedures, and safety standards consistently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with cleaning or packing roles in a warehouse, production, or similar environment.
• Experience with inspection, electronics, quality control, or production work.
• Familiarity with MacBooks, iMacs, iPhones, and iPads, including basic components and handling, is a plus.
• Basic understanding of macOS and iOS is beneficial for supporting device-related tasks.
• Strong organizational skills that support maintaining clean, orderly work areas and inventory locations.
• Willingness to be cross-trained in multiple departments and take on new responsibilities as needed.

Work Environment

This is a full-time role in a warehouse setting with a shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The facility is air temperature-controlled and features multiple workstations where some tasks are performed while seated and others while standing, so you should be comfortable with both. Work involves repetitive cleaning, packing, and basic handling of electronic devices and inventory. You will use standard warehouse equipment and supplies while following established safety and quality procedures. Comfortable, closed-toe shoes are needed to move safely around the warehouse, and assigned safety equipment must be worn at all times.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Skokie, IL.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
