The Role We're hiring our first Controller. This is not a maintenance role. Energie Solutions has grown fast — thousands of projects, a national client base, and the kind of revenue that demands real financial infrastructure. We need someone who can step in, take ownership of the books, and build the systems that match where the business is going. You'll report directly to the owner. You'll have the latitude to set up the function the way it should be set up — chart of accounts, monthly close cadence, job costing, investor reporting, commission structures, cash forecasting. Our outside CPA firm is in place for tax and audit support. The bones of QuickBooks Online and our operational stack (Monday.com, HubSpot, Lotus HR) are ready for someone who can connect them. This is the right seat for an accountant who's tired of being handed a system and wants to build one. What You'll Own Monthly close, on a calendar — not "when it gets done" Job costing and project-level profitability across active installations Commission and sales comp reconciliation AP, AR, cash forecasting, and bank LOC reporting Quarterly investor reporting package Payroll GL reconciliation (Lotus HR is our payroll partner; you own the books side) Working with our outside CPA on tax filings and year-end Building the QuickBooks Online setup into something that actually tells us the truth about the business Who We're Looking For 5+ years of accounting in construction, contracting, or trades — electrical, mechanical, HVAC, energy services, or similar. This is non-negotiable. Generalist accounting backgrounds will not be a fit. Hands‑on job costing experience. You've closed jobs, allocated burden, and explained variances. Comfortable inheriting a function that needs organization — and excited to build the system, not just inherit one. QuickBooks Online power user. CPA or actively pursuing, preferred.
