A growing, multi-location organization is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional with 1-2 years of general ledger experience who is looking to continue developing their accounting skills within a growing organization.


The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, attention to detail, and hands-on experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and the monthly close process.


OVERVIEW OF THE STAFF ACCOUNTANT ROLE:

• Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Perform bank and general ledger account reconciliations
• Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and supporting schedules
• Assist with preparation and analysis of financial statements
• Research and resolve account discrepancies
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other accounting functions as needed
• Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for internal and external reporting
• Assist with accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and other balance sheet accounts
• Support audit and tax requests
• Assist with financial reporting and ad hoc accounting projects
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 1-2 years of hands-on general ledger accounting experience
• Understanding of fundamental accounting principles
• Strong knowledge of debits, credits, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Experience assisting with month-end close
• Ability to understand and analyze financial statements
• Strong Excel skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
• Experience with an ERP or accounting system preferred
