A top civil litigation firm based in LA seeks Civil litigation attorney, ideally with experience working with public entity/municipal law clients Job Details Job Details: We are seeking a seasoned Civil Litigation Attorney with a focus on Public Entity Defense to join our dynamic Legal team. This is a unique opportunity to work on high-profile cases, providing legal advice and representation to public entities, including school districts, municipalities, and government agencies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in handling complex litigation matters related to employment, labor, and municipal law, and a deep understanding of government liability. Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive legal representation to public entities in all aspects of civil litigation, from the initial case evaluation to final resolution. Defend public entities in lawsuits involving employment disputes, labor issues, and other municipal law matters. Prepare and present cases in court, arbitration, and administrative hearings. Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts, and agreements. Conduct thorough and detailed legal research to support case strategies and advise clients. Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure the highest level of client service. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to public entities. Provide legal training and education to clients to help them understand their rights, obligations, and legal risks. Qualifications: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Admitted to practice law in the state and in good standing with the state bar. Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil litigation, with a strong emphasis on public entity defense. Demonstrated expertise in employment, labor, and municipal law. Proven experience representing school districts, government agencies, and other public entities. Excellent understanding of government liability and the legal challenges faced by public entities. Exceptional legal research, writing, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills. Ability to manage a high volume of cases and work under tight deadlines. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues. High ethical standards and professional integrity. Commitment to public service and a passion for defending the rights and interests of public entities.
