Program Coordinator

Position Title: Program Coordinator (Estimated Starting Salary: $50,000) Reports To: Senior Director of Programs Position Type: Full-time | 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM with some weekend work (pre-scheduled) About Junior Achievement of Southwestern Michigan (JASEM) Junior Achievement (JA) is the world’s largest organization dedicated to equipping young people with the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their future, and make smart academic and financial choices. Position Summary The Program Coordinator plays a vital role in delivering Junior Achievement programs to schools and community partners. This position requires an organized, proactive, and personable professional who enjoys working with educators, volunteers, and diverse communities. You will be responsible for coordinating program logistics, supporting curriculum implementation, and ensuring high-quality experience for students and partners. Key Responsibilities Program Recruitment Build and maintain strong relationships with educators and school administrators. Develop partnerships in five priority counties: Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw, and Genesee. Scheduling & Coordination Organize program dates, times, and classroom needs with educators and internal teams. Prepare classrooms and materials for workshops and events. Confirm all program components (volunteers, curriculum, materials) prior to delivery. Track permission slips, media releases, and required documentation. Materials & Curriculum Support Ensure educators receive accurate and complete program materials in advance. Provide guidance on curriculum implementation and troubleshoot issues. Communication & Training Assist with educator orientation and training sessions. Share best practices and resources to enhance program quality. Program Quality & Feedback Monitor program delivery to ensure JA standards are met. Collect feedback, testimonials, and impact stories for reporting. Program Delivery (K–12) Facilitate JA programs in classrooms and at the JA office. Lead Junior Achievement Finance Park (JAFP) sessions. Qualifications Required Associate or bachelor’s degree in education, human services, social work, or related field (or equivalent experience working with youth). Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills. Ability to work effectively with diverse socio-economic and cultural populations. Comfortable presenting to adults and youth. Driver’s License and access to reliable transportation. Preferred Two or more years of experience in nonprofit or K–12 education settings. Recruitment or sales experience. Familiarity with MS Teams and virtual collaboration tools. Experience with Justice, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging initiatives. Established relationships with area schools.
