About the Property The Houston Marriott Westchase is one of the largest full‑service Marriott hotels in Houston, offering more than 604 guest rooms, 43,000+ square feet of event space, the Republic Grill, Republic Lounge, and on‑site Starbucks. It is located in the Westchase District, three miles south of Memorial City Mall. Job Details Position: Housekeeping Manager (Non‑Exempt) Schedule: 45 hours per week, including weekends, holidays, and variable shifts based on occupancy Location: Houston Marriott Westchase, Houston, TX Department: Housekeeping & Laundry Responsibilities Oversee daily cleaning, servicing, and inspection of all guest rooms and public areas, ensuring Marriott brand cleanliness and service standards are met. Inspect 50–60 rooms per day, manage room status accuracy in the PMS (and future PowerM), and coach staff in real‑time based on inspection results. Coordinate deep‑cleaning projects, preventive maintenance walkthroughs, and lost‑and‑found procedures in partnership with the Engineering department. Supervise on‑property laundry operations, including linen processing, equipment maintenance, inventory control, and safety compliance. Build and manage work schedules for 50–60 staff members using HotelEffectiveness, aligning labor deployment with occupancy forecasts. Conduct pre‑shift briefings, recruit, train, onboard, evaluate performance, and administer incentive programs tied to inspections, productivity, and guest satisfaction. Process and close payroll for the department using Workday, maintain accurate employee work records, and support budget planning and variance reporting. Communicate with hourly employees, department managers, hotel leadership, guests, vendors, and contract labor; represent the housekeeping department at leadership and departmental meetings. Qualifications 2–3 years of experience as a Hotel Housekeeping Manager or Supervisor, preferably with a full‑service or high‑volume hotel (400+ rooms). Luxury or premium experience is a plus. Fluency in English and Spanish, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages. Proven ability to manage teams of 50+ employees across multiple job classifications, including on‑property laundry operations. Proficiency with a Property Management System (PMS) and willingness to transition to PowerM, as well as experience with HotelEffectiveness or a comparable labor scheduling platform. Experience processing payroll, maintaining accurate employee records, and designing incentive programs tied to performance metrics. Strong computer skills, comfortable with hotel systems, scheduling tools, payroll platforms, and standard office applications. Must be able to attend and contribute to leadership and departmental meetings on a regular basis. High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or a related field preferred. Physical Requirements Walk and stand for extended periods (8+ hours per day) while conducting room inspections. Lift and move up to 25–50 lbs occasionally (linen bundles, supply carts). Regular presence in the laundry facility, exposing to heat, noise, and cleaning supplies. Must have access to all areas of the hotel property, including back‑of‑house corridors, stairwells, and laundry facilities.
