Job Description

Our client seeking a Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close.

Location: Alexandria VA

Schedule: Hybrid (3x/week on site)

Pay: $60-70K (depending on experience)

✨ Benefits: This position is eligible for dental, medical, vision & 401K match.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate general ledger records and ensure transactions are recorded appropriately

• Prepare and post journal entries with supporting documentation

• Complete bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve outstanding items

• Support month-end close, including accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules

• Use Excel to organize, review, and reconcile accounting data

• Maintain organized records to support financial reporting and audit requests

Ideal Background:

• General ledger experience required; 1+ year of accounting experience preferred

• Hands-on experience with bank reconciliations, journal entries, and account reconciliations

• Experience supporting month-end close

• Strong Excel skills

• Accounting degree preferred

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and investigate discrepancies
