The detailed job description is as follows Position: CNC Programmer II Location: Dayton, Ohio Duration: 12+ months Job Overview We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer II to develop, optimize, and maintain CNC programs supporting precision machining operations. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with CAD/CAM software, fixture design, and CNC programming while working closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to ensure efficient, high-quality manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs for precision machining operations. Analyze engineering drawings, models, and specifications to determine machining strategies. Participate in pre-production planning to develop efficient manufacturing processes. Create and maintain tooling lists, setup sheets, process documentation, and work instructions. Design fixtures and tooling required for machining operations. Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers to resolve programming and production issues. Support machining operations during setup, prove-out, and process validation. Work closely with Quality and Production teams to ensure parts meet customer and engineering specifications. Improve machining efficiency by optimizing cycle times, tooling, and manufacturing processes. Manage multiple programming projects while meeting production schedules and quality standards. Provide technical guidance and support to machinists and junior programmers. Required Qualifications Associate degree, Trade School certification in CNC Machining, or equivalent experience. 7+ years of CNC programming and machining experience. Strong experience with CAD/CAM software such as Esprit, Mastercam, SolidWorks, or similar. Experience creating CNC programs for milling and turning operations. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T. Experience designing machining fixtures and tooling. Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and process optimization skills. Excellent communication and documentation skills.
