Highlights: Work in a prestigious, Magnet-designated Level I Trauma Center ranked 1 in Wisconsin 24-bed unit caring for critically ill medical, surgical, and trauma adult and geriatric patients with 2:1 patient ratios Epic charting system in use; exposure to advanced therapies including ECMO, continuous dialysis, and cutting-edge evidence-based treatments 2024 Gold Level Beacon Award recipient from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, and more Academic medical center environment with involvement in research studies and innovative patient care protocols Requirements: Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required (Medical, Surgical, and Trauma ICU) Active Wisconsin RN license or Compact RN license BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only) Epic EMR experience required Must pass telemetry competency exam prior to start date with strict passing criteria Experience with ventilator management, vasoactive drips, arterial lines, central lines, and critical care protocols Floating to other units as needed; local candidates (within 50 miles) not accepted for this travel position Clinical Skills & Competencies: Care of ventilated patients and respiratory failure management Blood product administration and IV insulin protocols Management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure Continuous IV sedation and paralytics administration Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and ABGs High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) and BiPAP/CPAP management Experience with trauma patients, post-operative care, sepsis, ARDS, and GI bleeds Why It's a Great Opportunity: Join an elite team of critical care nurses in one of the nation's leading academic medical centers.
