No two days in hospitality are exactly the same, and as Assistant General Manager, you're right in the middle of the action. You play a key role in creating a hotel where guests want to return, team members want to work, and the operation runs smoothly. Working alongside the General Manager, you'll help lead the team, maintain high standards, solve problems, and keep the hotel moving in the right direction each day.

You may spend part of your day coaching a front desk associate, walking guestrooms with the housekeeping team, reviewing guest feedback, helping manage labor and scheduling, preparing for a Marriott brand inspection, or stepping in to resolve a guest concern. As Assistant General Manager, you're a visible leader throughout the hotel; supporting your General Manager, developing your team, and helping create a great experience for both guests and associates.

What You'll Own

As Assistant General Manager, you'll help lead the hotel's day-to-day operations and support its overall performance, including:

• Leading, coaching, and supporting hotel associates and department leaders
• Creating a positive, accountable, and service-focused workplace culture
• Serving as a visible leader throughout the hotel and stepping in wherever needed
• Driving guest satisfaction and responding effectively to guest concerns and feedback
• Supporting Marriott brand standards and helping ensure brand compliance
• Overseeing daily front office, housekeeping, and other hotel operations in partnership with department leaders
• Helping manage staffing levels, scheduling, productivity, and labor costs
• Supporting recruiting, onboarding, training, recognition, and development of team members
• Reviewing daily operating reports, guest feedback, labor performance, and other hotel metrics
• Assisting the General Manager with financial performance, expense controls, forecasting, and operational planning
• Working with Sales and Revenue Management to understand occupancy, rate strategy, groups, and upcoming business
• Maintaining a clean, safe, welcoming, and well-maintained property
• Ensuring company policies, safety standards, and operating procedures are consistently followed
• Building strong relationships with guests, associates, vendors, and community partners
• Serving as a leader of the hotel in the General Manager's absence
• Taking ownership of challenges and following through until they are resolved

The Leader We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who's ready to take the next step in hotel leadership and wants to make a meaningful impact on the operation.

You enjoy being on the floor, working alongside your team, talking with guests, and seeing firsthand what's happening throughout the hotel. You're comfortable coaching an associate, reviewing the day's numbers, inspecting guestrooms, helping manage a busy arrival period, and stepping in when something doesn't go according to plan.

You're organized, dependable, approachable, and able to balance multiple priorities. You understand when to take ownership, when to involve the General Manager, and how to keep the team focused when the hotel gets busy. You hold people accountable while treating them with respect, recognize great work, and address concerns before they become bigger problems.

Most importantly, you understand hospitality.
