About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year CVICU experience required. License: Active state RN license or compact license accepted. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have: - Experience with Impella post cardiac surgery. - Experience with post cardiac surgery, not directly from the OR. - Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization/intervention. - Proficiency in pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring. - Experience with thermodilution PA catheter monitoring. - Familiarity with A-lines, ventilation, drips, sheaths, dialysis, and ability to draw ABGs. - EPIC experience required. - Ability to pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment. Description: The position requires a registered nurse with ICU experience. Candidates must have a minimum of one year of dedicated CVICU staffing experience. Level one trauma experience is preferred. Travel experience is beneficial. Patient ratios are typically 1:2 in a unit that consists of 36 beds. Candidates should be comfortable floating between units based on patient needs. Weekly schedules will include working every other weekend and holiday. Nursing care involves managing multiple systems and procedures, including caring for ventilated patients and administering blood products. Special procedures include open heart recovery, post-operative valve replacement, repair, aneurysm repair, and ARDS proning. The unit will provide care for adult and geriatric patients. Daily census is expected to be around 33. Patient diagnoses may include STEMI, heart failure, sepsis, respiratory failure, and cardiac arrest. The role encompasses interdisciplinary support from various teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Candidates must be prepared to comply with all medical protocols and maintain an active role in patient care.
