Senior Substation Physical Engineer

Mesa seeks a Substation Physical Engineer who will be responsible for the design, checking and oversight of deliverables associated with substation physical design projects. Assigned tasks will include the creation and revision of General Arrangements, Elevations and Sections, Control House Layouts, Grounding layouts, Conduit and Cable schedules, and Bill of Materials using AutoCAD. The ideal candidate will also oversee multiple projects at once and may oversee other junior engineers and designers.

Responsibilities include utilizing AutoCAD to create assigned deliverables, meeting customer's schedule and budget requirements, performing physical design with a high degree of accuracy, willingness to travel and work overtime as needed, performing careful self-checking activities to ensure the quality of work before it is presented to peers for independent reviews, checking/reviewing other personnel's work for accuracy/adherence to client/national standards, overseeing multiple projects simultaneously and occasionally overseeing other designers and engineers in order to complete projects on time and on budget, performing project scoping activities, and mentoring junior engineers and designers.

Required: 8 years: 8 or more years of relevant project experience with at least 6 years of experience functioning as a design engineer

Licenses & Certifications

Preferred: Engineer in Training, Prof Engineering (PE)
