Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) – Full-Time | 2026–2027 School Year
Soliant Education is seeking a full-time, onsite Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to support students across the Suffolk, VA area. This is an itinerant position working throughout the district.
Pay: $35–$45/hour
Type: W-2 Contract
Schedule: Full-time
Benefits: Medical, Dental, 401(k)
Position Details:
- Caseload of approximately 20 students (K–12)
- Provide itinerant services across the district
- Collaborate with an existing virtual TVI (onsite presence required; no additional virtual candidates at this time)
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction for students with visual impairments
- Develop, write, and implement IEPs
- Collaborate with related service providers and school staff
- Support student access to curriculum and independence skills
Requirements:
- Virginia DOE License – Visually Impaired Students (required)
- Minimum 2 years of recent teaching experience
- Experience with IEP development and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
