Production Assistant

Job Title: Production Assistant - Sign Manufacturing Location: Dearborn Heights Shift: Part time up to 30 hours a week. Start time 9am Pay: $16-$17 per hour We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Production Assistant to support our sign manufacturing team. This role plays a key part in producing high-quality signage by assisting with fabrication tasks, preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and ensuring efficient workflow throughout the shop. Key Responsibilities Assist in the fabrication of signs including cutting, trimming, and assembly tasks. Operate basic shop equipment and tools (e.g., cutters, drills, laminators). Prepare materials such as vinyl, substrates, and mounting hardware. Help with printing, weeding, masking, and applying vinyl graphics. Organize and label materials for production jobs. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. Load, unload, and move materials or finished products as needed. Support production staff with quality checks and packaging. Follow shop procedures, safety protocols, and job instructions. Qualifications Experience in sign manufacturing, print production, or general shop/warehouse work preferred but not required; training provided. Ability to use hand tools and basic machinery safely. Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new fabrication skills. Ability to read work orders, measurements, and basic diagrams. Good communication and teamwork skills. Able to lift 40-50 lbs and stand for extended periods. Preferred Skills (Not Required) Experience with large-format printers, plotters, or laminators. Familiarity with vinyl application and sign assembly techniques. Basic computer skills (e.g., RIP software, Adobe Suite, Microsoft, or similar).
