Senior Billing Specialist

The ideal candidate will bring at least 5 years of legal billing experience, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Responsibilities Prepare, review, and finalize client invoices in accordance with firm and client billing guidelines, including adjustments for write-downs, rate corrections, trust applications, and split billing. Submit invoices through electronic billing platforms, manage rejections or adjustments, and ensure compliance with ABA task/activity codes and client-specific billing standards. Monitor attorney time entries and expenses for accuracy and compliance; assist with collections and follow up on outstanding accounts. Maintain eBilling platform credentials and configurations, onboard new clients, manage rate approvals, and ensure proper matter mapping and setup in Aderant. Process LEDES files for structure and code accuracy, redact irrelevant content from AP invoices, and ensure billing documents are clear and professional. Collaborate with attorneys, staff, and client representatives to resolve billing discrepancies, submit appeals, and clarify billing narratives to avoid invoice rejection. Maintain billing records, generate monthly reports for attorneys and the Director of Finance, Accounting & Operations, and provide insights on trusts, AR, time/cost accruals, and matter status. Required Experience High school diploma At least 5+ years of legal billing experience in a law firm environment Must have familiarity with billing software (e.g. Aderant, Pro Law or Elite 3E) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently Discretion in handling confidential financial and client information Proficiency in software such as iManage and SQL database is preferred.
