Key Qualifications:

• Fluent in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Prior experience supporting students, especially within elementary grades, is highly valued
• Comfortable assisting in both individual and group learning settings
• Ability to collaborate effectively with classroom teachers and staff
• Patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic about helping children grow
• Reliable and committed to maintaining continuity throughout the academic year

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one and small group support for students who use ASL as part of their learning
• Assist the lead teacher in fostering an inclusive, communicative classroom environment
• Facilitate communication between students, peers, and staff by interpreting or supporting expressive and receptive ASL use
• Engage positively with students in grades 1-3, promoting social interaction and academic progress
• Aid with classroom activities, routines, and transitions during afternoon hours

Schedule:

• Monday through Thursday: 12:00 pm – 3:15 pm
• Friday: 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm
• Total of 15 hours per week

Compensation for this role ranges from $20 to $27 per hour, based on experience and skills.
