Pay Grade 14 Salary $3,600.84 Monthly Employment Type EXECUTIVE BRANCH | FULL TIME | ELIGIBLE FOR OVERTIME PAY | 18A | 37.5 HR/WK Hiring Agency Education & Labor Cabinet | Department of Workforce Development Location Varies Location: Western Kentucky The Kentucky Education and Labor Cabinet advances education, workforce development, and economic opportunityacross the Commonwealth. The Cabinet provides education and training programs, employment and reemploymentservices, unemployment insurance, and disability determination services to help Kentuckians gain skills, findwork, and maintain economic stability. The Career Development Office provides workforce services to Kentuckians who are unemployed, under-employed,or searching for a new career path. We also provide a variety of services, such as assistance withunemployment insurance, business downsizing, labor market information, job postings, and recruiting andtraining. This is a federally funded time-limited (FFTL) position. This means it is a position that is paid entirely asthe result of a federal grant. The duration of employment shall not exceed the life of the federal grant thatfunds the position. An employee appointed to an FFTL position is required to meet the minimum requirements forthe classification. Further, an employee appointed to an FFTL position is designated as an unclassified (non-merit) employee. An FFTL employee is eligible to receive benefits at the same level as a classified (merit)employee in a permanent position. Job Duties: Completes required housing and field inspections per the federal safety and health standards set by US Department of Labor (DOL) to approve or deny foreign workers access. Works with employers on any apparent deficiencies and follows up as necessary. Assists to resolve housing and/or employment issues between the migrant employees and farmers. Reviews and ensures wage and piece units for initial certification requests are set according to DOL. Posts seasonal farm positions within required deadlines and follows up on referrals. Performs outreach to identify migrant and seasonal farm workers and provides information about services available in the local Career Development Office. Conducts outreach activities at local trade shows, agricultural extension events, and other related activities involving seasonal workers and agricultural employers. Interprets departmental and federal regulations and policies to customers, staff, and partners. Maintains all documentation related to housing reviews, complaints, and referrals. EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Two years experience in reviewing, monitoring, determining eligibility for, and/or administering employment service or unemployment insurance programs, or experience in education, public administration, business, human services, military, human resources or a related field. Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: A master's degree will substitute for one year of the required experience. Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Work experience in workforce programs such as WIOA, employment services, and/or unemployment insurance programs, or experience in education, public administration, business, human services, military, human resources or a related field will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
