About the Role

The Company is in search of a Vice President of Internal Audit to take on the role of third-line assurance leader. The successful candidate will be tasked with leading a risk-based internal audit function that provides independent and objective assurance over governance, risk management, and internal controls throughout the enterprise. This executive will be responsible for ensuring comprehensive audit coverage across all functions, products, services, operations, and technology. Key duties include establishing and executing the annual audit plan, overseeing reporting, and delivering clear, actionable insights to senior leadership and the Audit Committee. The role also involves constructive partnership with management and external auditors, as well as serving as the primary liaison to the Audit Committee. Applicants for the Vice President of Internal Audit position at the company should have a minimum of 8 years' progressive internal audit and leadership experience, with a preference for those with a background in credit union or financial services, particularly digital banking platforms. A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or information systems is required, and professional certifications such as CIA, CPA, CISA, CRCM, or CFE are beneficial. The ideal candidate will be adept at maintaining organizational independence, reporting functionally to the Audit Committee, and administratively to the COO. Additionally, the role involves overseeing the intake, documentation, and escalation of whistleblower matters in accordance with policy, and ensuring timely communication with the Audit Committee Chair and President/CEO when necessary.
