Senior Scientist I/II - Outsourcing Manager, Analytical R&D
AbbVie
Senior Scientist position managing outsourcing activities for pharmaceutical development projects. Responsibilities include coordinating with external service providers, leading a team, ensuring GMP compliance, and managing timelines and budgets across formulation, manufacturing, and analytical work.
Responsibilities
- Manage interactions with external service providers and represent company interests in outsourced projects
- Coordinate and monitor development work in formulation, manufacturing, and analytics within timelines
- Assess service providers and identify and qualify new external partners
- Prepare GMP-compliant documentation and review analytical data from service providers
- Lead and develop team while ensuring GMP training compliance and driving standardized processes
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 10+ years experience, or Master's degree and 8+ years experience, or PhD with 0-4 years experience
- Pharmaceutical development experience in GMP-regulated environment preferred
- Proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills with attention to detail
- Proven problem-solving ability and resilience with changing priorities
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills across global teams
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work in fast-paced environment
