Scientist I / II, Liquid Chromatography (LC), tLNP Analytical R&D

AbbVie seeks an LC Scientist to develop and optimize liquid chromatography methods supporting targeted lipid nanoparticle therapeutic programs. The role involves hands-on method development across multiple modalities including mRNA, lipids, and antibodies, with collaboration across analytical and manufacturing teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, optimize, and execute LC-based methods for release, stability, and characterization testing
• Develop chromatographic methods for multiple tLNP modalities including lipids, mAbs, LDNA, mRNA, and LNP particles
• Lead root-cause investigations into chromatographic performance, instrumentation, and method robustness issues
• Support method qualification, transfer, and lifecycle management across internal and external laboratory sites
• Analyze experimental data, interpret trends, and communicate findings through technical reports and presentations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in analytical chemistry, chemistry, or related field plus 5+ years industry experience, or Master's plus 2+ years (Scientist I level)
• Strong hands-on experience developing and troubleshooting LC methods independently
• Direct experience with multiple LC techniques: RPLC, IPRP, SEC, IEX, or HIC
• Proficiency with LC instruments from Agilent, Thermo Fisher, or Waters
• Experience with Empower chromatography data software
• Understanding of chromatographic principles, critical parameters, and design of experiments approaches
• Experience developing LC methods for at least one relevant modality: lipids, oligonucleotides, mRNA, or proteins
