Journeyman Electrician - 1st Shift - Pay up to $45/hr

Job Description:

As a Journeyman Industrial Electrician, you will be the primary electrician for the wastewater treatment facility. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing electrical, control, and automation systems across the plant, ensuring optimal operations and minimal downtime.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary electrician for the wastewater treatment facility, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing electrical, control, and automation systems across the plant.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on 480V, 3-phase power distribution systems, motor control centers (MCCs), VFDs, transformers, motors, pumps, blowers, and related industrial equipment.
• Troubleshoot and support Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation, and process control systems to maintain reliable plant operations.
• Diagnose electrical failures using schematics, PLC logic, meters, and testing equipment while implementing effective corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance on critical wastewater treatment equipment, including lift stations, aeration systems, sludge processing equipment, clarifiers, and chemical feed systems.
• Install, wire, and commission new electrical equipment, control panels, motors, sensors, and field devices in compliance with NEC and municipal standards.
• Partner with operations and maintenance personnel to identify system improvements, increase equipment reliability, and support facility upgrades and capital projects.
• Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, inspections, electrical drawings, and maintenance activities while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Essential Skills:

• Electrical maintenance - Experience with 480V, 3-phase industrial electrical systems.
• Industrial maintenance - 5+ years of maintenance experience.
• Strong troubleshooting experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and industrial automation.
• Good computer skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Journeyman Electrician License preferred.
• Experience in wastewater, water treatment, manufacturing, heavy industrial, or process environments preferred.

Work Environment

Work in a clean wastewater treatment facility where you may be exposed to noise, dust, vibration, heat, and electrical hazards. The facility does have an odor, but it is well-managed. Shift work, overtime, weekends, or on-call availability may be required. The use of required PPE including safety glasses, gloves, arc flash gear, and hearing protection is mandatory in this non-union environment.

This is a Permanent position based out of Akron, OH.

The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $99840.00/yr.
