The Opportunity
We partner with manufacturers across Walker seeking Payroll Specialists who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.
Key Responsibilities
- Processes bi-weekly payroll for all manufacturing employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Manages timecard collection and approval processes, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
- Calculates and remits all payroll-related taxes and withholdings in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Reconciles payroll accounts and prepares related journal entries.
- Responds to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and leave balances.
- Prepares and distributes W-2 forms annually.
- Administers garnishments, child support orders, and other involuntary deductions.
Recommended Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience processing multi-state payroll for 500+ employees, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Workday, UKG) and timekeeping systems.
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong understanding of wage and hour laws, including FLSA and state-specific mandates.
- Proven ability to accurately calculate and process various pay components, including overtime, bonuses, and shift differentials.
