Broadway Cannabis Market, where our motto is Premium Without the Price, is a recreational and medicinal cannabis dispensary chain across the greater Portland area. We are seeking qualified applicants for retail positions at our Capitol store.

Our retail team is responsible for providing knowledgeable and welcoming customer service, maintaining a clean and organized sales floor, accurately processing transactions, and ensuring all cannabis products are handled in compliance with OLCC regulations. Depending on experience and qualifications, candidates may be considered for either a Budtender or Lead Budtender/Keyholder position.

Responsibilities and Duties

The following duties are normal for these positions. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Customer Service & Budtender Responsibilities:

• Greet customers, verify age/legal ID, and assist customers in selecting suitable cannabis products based on their needs, preferences, budgets, and product knowledge.
• Educate customers on safe cannabis use and stay informed about new products, consumption methods, and industry trends.
• Process customer payments accurately using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
• Correctly weigh, package, and label cannabis products in strict accordance with OLCC regulations.
• Ensure the dispensary floor and check-in area remain clean, organized, and well-stocked with cannabis and non-cannabis products.
• Process, fulfill, and close online and delivery orders.
• Monitor procedure updates and maintain daily communication on Slack.
• Maintain a professional, welcoming, and knowledgeable customer experience throughout each shift.

Additional Lead Budtender/Keyholder Responsibilities:

• Complete opening and closing procedures and securely manage keys for the front door, cage, and product cabinets.
• Assign POS drawers to staff, ensure register assignment compliance, balance bank change, maintain change count logs, and complete end-of-shift cash and tip drops.
• Oversee customer returns, assist with difficult customer situations, and answer complex product questions.
• Manage break and lunch schedules for Budtenders and supervise staff in the absence of the Assistant or General Manager.
• Monitor stock levels and ensure "End of Jar" and "New Strain on Floor" protocols are followed.
• Communicate inventory needs and concerns to the Inventory Department.
• Support daily floor operations and help ensure store procedures are followed consistently.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Must have a valid Oregon Marijuana Worker Permit (required).
• Must be 21 years of age or older (required).
• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous cannabis retail or Budtender experience preferred.
• Previous leadership or Keyholder experience preferred for Lead Budtender/Keyholder consideration.
• Intermediate knowledge of cannabis.
• Computer software and data entry skills.
• Knowledge of OLCC sales limits and compliance requirements.
• Ability to work quickly and accurately.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to adapt to changing circumstances without notice.
• Must be able to understand and comply with safety regulations.
• Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Budtender: $16.80/hr. + shared tips
• Lead Budtender/Keyholder: $18.00/hr. + shared tips
