We seek an experienced Network Engineer to join the Classified IT Center of Excellence (CoE). In this fast‑paced, innovation‑driven environment, the incumbent will:Designs and plans network communications systems. Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. Provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conducts testing of network design. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.Perform routine updates, major upgrades, patching, and vulnerability scanningMaintain asset inventory and ensure hardware/software lifecycle complianceEnforce Lockheed Martin and DoD policies, including STIG and RMF requirementsImplement security hardening, remediate findings, and conduct technical security implementationsProvide timely resolution of infrastructure issues (hardware, software, networking)Update Service Central tickets, JIRA issues, and Confluence pages with accurate status, work‑performed details, and any changes to scope, priority, or assignment; attach relevant artifacts and ensure traceability to requirements or incidents.Coordinate with stakeholders (customers, engineers, and support leads) to verify resolution, close tickets or issues promptly, and communicate any follow‑up actions or documentation updates across all three platforms.Design and implement innovative technical solutions to complex problemsSupport classified customer demonstration environments and lab testbeds, ensuring readiness and performance for stakeholder reviewsDocument system configurations, procedures, and lessons learnedMentor junior staff and contribute to knowledge‑base growthParticipate in a 24  7 on‑call rotation; work off‑shift hours and weekends as neededWork onsite full‑time with occasional travel to other Lockheed Martin facilities or customer sitesBasic QualificationsUS Citizenship is required for this positionActive DoD ClearanceAbility and willingness to attain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) access.Active DoD 8570 IAT Level II or III certifications (i.e. Security +, CISSP, CASP)3+ years of Network Admin or System Admin experience (including VoIP Admin experience); installations, configuration, and troubleshooting, and design.Experience with network virtualization conceptsFirewall experience (Preferably Palo Alto)Desired SkillsExperience with network virtualization technologies NSX-V, NSX-T, Cisco ACIExperience with SD-WAN TechnologyExperience with IoT and Identity ManagementExperience with API, scripting (preferably Python)Familiarity Ansible TowerFamiliarity with NIST SP 800-37 RMF System LifecycleSolarWinds/SNMP experienceGeneral Dynamic encryptor experienceGeneral Dynamic TACLANE/GEMONE experienceCCNA, CCNP or PCNSAWindows Server administrationPay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
