Registered Nurse - CVOR

Job Description

Job Summary:
The CVOR RN will provide specialized perioperative care in a cardiovascular and open-heart surgery setting. They will support surgical teams during complex procedures, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and care.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and assist during cardiovascular and open-heart surgeries, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
• Prepare the operating room with necessary equipment and maintain sterile techniques during procedures.
• Circulate and monitor patient status throughout surgeries, adapting to different surgical suites as needed.
• Comply with all safety protocols, including SCRUB HEARTS, and maintain accurate documentation of procedures.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless surgical operations and patient care.
• Adapt to flexible scheduling, including call shifts and weekend duties, to meet unit needs.

Qualifications:

• Possess a minimum of 2 years recent OR RN experience with strong proficiency in cardiovascular/heart surgery.
• Hold current BLS certification; CNOR certification preferred.
• Demonstrate prior travel experience and flexibility with shift scheduling.
• Exhibit familiarity with Epic EMR systems within the past two years.
• Have experience working in large, academic or teaching hospitals with high-acuity patient populations.
• Possess reliable transportation, with vehicles equipped for winter conditions from November to April.
