Field Tech II

Field Tech II Compucom Systems, Inc. provides end-to-end IT managed services to enable the digital workplace for enterprise, midsize, and small businesses. We are looking for a Field Tech II to join our team. The IT Field Technician will provide onsite technical support for a national home improvement retail client. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on IT work, troubleshooting, and working in a fast‑paced field environment. Responsibilities Provide onsite support for IT equipment including POS systems, desktops, printers, thin clients, access points, and network devices. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues. Perform installations, upgrades, and break/fix support. Support copper and fiber cabling, including basic terminations. Document all work, updates, and resolutions in ticketing systems. Travel daily within a 125+ mile radius (route‑based travel). Work with remote teams to resolve escalated technical issues. Occasionally work at heights (20–25 feet) and lift up to 25 lbs. Qualifications 1+ year of IT technical support or field technician experience. CompTIA A+ (required), Network+ preferred. Experience with Windows, macOS, or Linux environments. Familiarity with networking fundamentals and IT hardware. Experience with cabling (copper/fiber) is a plus. Strong communication and customer service skills. Valid driver's license required. Wage Range Hourly rate: $22 per hour, unless local minimum wage is higher. Factors that may affect starting pay include geography, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications.
