Senior Director, Tax Counsel - Orthopedics

Senior Director of Tax Counsel role leading the tax counsel group for DePuy Synthes' orthopedics business. Position involves providing technical tax guidance on cross-border transactions, M&A, employee benefits, and international tax matters across global operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead tax counsel group and oversee one paralegal; participate in global enterprise tax meetings
• Set strategy and oversee cross-border acquisitions, dispositions, licensing, and internal tax planning globally
• Provide high-level technical tax advice on worldwide employee compensation and benefit plan administration
• Lead repatriation planning and supply chain tax optimization in partnership with treasury
• Represent organization in external US tax policy advocacy and industry group participation

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree required; Master of Laws in Taxation preferred
• Current bar membership required
• Minimum 12 years of tax experience in law firms or multinational organizations
• Strong expertise in international taxation, M&A, restructuring, and partnership tax
• Exposure to employee compensation and benefits tax issues
• Exceptional business communication skills for translating complex tax matters
• Leadership and team development capabilities across enterprise teams
