We are looking for a skilled CNC Setup Machinist to join our team.  In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating 3- & 4-axis CNC vertical milling machines – specifically focusing on our Haas VF-2 through VF-4 series.

While we have a dedicated programmer on staff, we need someone who is fluent in G & M code .  You must be able to confidently read, edit, and optimize programs directly at the control panel, identify toolpath errors, and execute complex setups.  You will be working with a diverse range of materials, moving daily from standard Aluminum and Stainless Steel to challenging Nickel Alloys, High Temp Alloys, and Titanium.

Key Responsiblilties

·         Machine Setup and Operation :  Perform complete mechanical setups on Haas VF-2, VF-3 and VF-4 vertical mills, including dialing in fixtures, vices, rotary tables (4th axis), and part probes.

·         Collaboration :  Partner with our in-house programming department to feedback toolpath enhancements and resolve program bugs quickly.

Qualifications and Experience

·         Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience setting up and operating CNC Vertical Machining Centers (VMCs).

·         Machine Fluency :  Strong background working directly with Haas controls and the Haas VF product lineup.  4th axis experience is highly preferred.

·         Programming Skills :  High proficiency in manually reading and editing G & M codes.  Full conversational or CAM programming is a plus, but manual optimization at the control panel is required.

·         Blueprint reading :  Expert ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and engineering drawings, including GD&T symbols.

·         Material Knowledge :  Demonstrated experience managing chip load, heat generation, And tool wear across hard exotics (Titanium, Inconel/Nickel alloys) and soft metals (Aluminum).
