Starting Date: Aug 24, 2026 Position Dual Language (Spanish) Teacher Summary Opportunity in our new Dual-Language Education Program located at Gomes Elementary School. This program will provide some of our youngest learners with an exceptional opportunity to become proficient in two languages. Grade level content will be delivered in Spanish and English. Educators must hold a Bi-lingual/ESL and an Early Childhood license. Provide rigorous lessons aligned to the Common Core Standards and MA State Frameworks that promote independent thinking, creative problem solving, and intellectual curiosity for all students. Responsibilities Plan and implement instruction to ensure that all students meet and exceed Common Core Standards and State Frameworks Use data to inform instruction, to track student progress and to track progress of self through self-evaluation and goal setting Deliver engaging, targeted instruction that meets MA DESE and Common Core Standards for level and subject taught Differentiated services and instruction to meet variety of student learning needs and strengths Maintain active communication with students’ families in support of their learning and to communicate with families consistently and regularly throughout the school year about their children’s academic and social progress Assess student performance using formal, summative, and portfolio assessments to drive instruction Perform other duties as assigned by the principal Qualifications Licensed by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, PreK-8 and ESL/Bi-Lingual A demonstrated belief that each and every student can achieve at high levels A demonstrated dedication to lifelong learning, reflection, and continued personal and professional growth Excellent written and verbal communication skills Outstanding interpersonal and collaborative teamwork skills SEI Endorsement Bachelor degree preferred Citizenship, residency or work visa required Terms of Employment Reports to: School Principal Rate: In accordance with the Unit A contract Position Type: Full-time Starting Date: Aug 24, 2026 EEO Statement The New Bedford Public Schools do not discriminate on account of age, race, color, sex, gender identity, gender expression, ancestry, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, military status, genetics, or disability that does not prohibit performance of essential job functions in employment for potential employees.
