Press Brake Operator – CNC Fabrication | LVD • Safan • PullmaxJoin a family-owned, cross-training-friendly fabrication shop where you'll run CNC press brakes, lasers, turret punches, and water jets to produce high-quality metal components. This role is perfect for a hands-on fabricator who enjoys variety, teamwork, and working with both automated and manual equipment in a fast-paced environment.What You'll DoSet up and operate CNC fabrication equipment including water jets, lasers, turret punches, and press brakesPerform cutting, punching, and forming according to work orders, travelers, and engineering drawingsLoad and unload sheet metal, plate, and raw materials safely and efficientlySelect tooling and dies based on job specs, material thickness, and forming requirementsRead blueprints and flat patterns to ensure accurate bends and part geometryAdjust machine parameters to maintain tight tolerances and consistent part qualityInspect finished parts using calipers, protractors, gauges, and precision toolsOperate manual fabrication tools such as saws, drills, grinders, and tapping equipmentMaintain part traceability and ensure shop traveler accuracyStage and label completed parts for downstream welding or electrical assemblyPerform routine machine cleaning and basic troubleshootingRecord production data and part counts in shop-floor tracking systemsReport material shortages or equipment issues promptlyAssist teammates across fabrication tasks to support daily production goalsEssential Skills2+ years CNC fabrication experience with water jets, lasers, turret punches, and press brakesProficiency with LVD, Safan, and Pullmax or similar press brake brandsTooling and die selection for various materials and thicknessesStrong blueprint reading and flat-pattern interpretationPrecision measuring tool experience (calipers, protractors, gauges)Metal fabrication knowledge including material characteristics and forming behaviorSafe material handling for sheet metal and plateManual fabrication equipment operationAbility to lift 50 lbs and work in a hands-on shop environmentAttention to detail for part traceability and accurate production recordsTeam-oriented mindset with willingness to assist wherever neededAdditional Skills & QualificationsCNC job-shop experienceFamiliarity with shop travelers and tracking systemsComfort with older but well-maintained machineryBasic troubleshooting skillsStrong communication for reporting issues and coordinating workflowOrganizational skills for staging and labeling partsWhy You'll Love Working HereSupportive, small-company culture with real cross-training opportunities4% 401(k) company matchBlue Cross Blue Shield health benefits with strong single-coverage contributionSix paid holidaysFamily-owned environment focused on teamwork, stability, and long-term growthWork EnvironmentYou'll work in a hands-on, family-owned fabrication shop operating CNC water jets, lasers, turret punches, and press brakes (LVD, Safan, Pullmax). The environment is production-focused, safety-driven, and highly collaborative, with regular material handling and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Inver Grove Heights, MN.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
