Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights (18:45–07:15) | 36 or 48 hours per week available | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit with a patient ratio of 1:6
• Care for a surgical patient population including colorectal, general surgery, hepatobiliary, orthopedic, urology, and vascular cases
• Utilize telemetry monitoring and perform IV starts as part of routine patient care
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
• Communicate effectively using SBAR methodology and administer medications via Pyxis
• Float occasionally to other units within or near the facility as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid Compact state license
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
• Demonstrated IV start and telemetry skills
• Current BLS certification
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers will be considered
• Familiarity with EPIC, Pyxis, and SBAR communication frameworks
• Experience caring for post-surgical patient populations
