With over 16,000 units across 13 states under management and more than 600 employees, Paths manages a suite of capabilities spanning the entire property life-cycle, including: development, construction, property management, maintenance, and security.The Staff Property Accountant will oversee the accounting and financial management of a portfolio of properties, responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and creating complete financial packages. This detail-oriented professional will also work closely with property management, ownership, lenders, and internal teams.Classification: Non-exempt (eligible for overtime)Hybrid Schedule- 3 days in the office/ 2 days' work from homeLocation: New York, NY 10022Key Responsibilities:Prepare and review monthly financial statements and reporting packages for multiple residential properties.Manage monthly general ledger close, journal entries, accruals, reclasses, and balance sheet reconciliations.Analyze financial results, budget variances, and property performance and provide meaningful commentary.Oversee AP activity and ensure timely payment of property expenses.Oversee and perform general ledger accounting, including AJEs, accrual adjustments and periodic account reconciliation.Manage property-level cash flow, forecasting, distributions, and banking activityMonthly cash reconciliations, including reconciliation of escrow, reserve and other property level cash accounts.Manage accounts receivable/payable activity to ensure timely processing of receipts and disbursements by our supporting departments.Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation for year-end reporting.Develop and refine property operating budgets annually to establish achievable performance goals.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or related field.1-3 years of accounting experience.Residential or property accounting experience strongly preferred, affordable experience a plus.Experience with Yardi, MRI, RealPage, or similar property accounting software is a plus.Strong organization skills and attention to detail, with ability to self-manage multiple priorities and deadlines.Effective communication skills with an ability to collaborate successfully with internal/external stakeholders.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to think critically to make informed decisions.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently.Ability to perform at high level in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment.Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000Benefits:Medical Insurance: 100% of medical benefits paid for employees onlyVoluntary dental and vision plan optionsBonus Eligible401(K) available plus company matchPaid Time Off12 Paid Company HolidaysCommuter BenefitsVoluntary short-term disability, long-term disability, life insurance, dependent coverageVoluntary accident insurance, critical Illness insurance, and hospital indemnity InsuranceEmployee Referral ProgramEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)EOE Statement - We are an equal employment opportunity employer.
