Property Accountant

Our client is a real estate firm. They seek a Property Accountant to join their Manhattan, NY office.ResponsibilitiesPrepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for assigned propertiesReview property operating expenses, tenant billings, and lease-related transactions for accuracyReconcile bank accounts, security deposits, and balance sheet accountsAssist with monthly close and prepare property financial statements and reporting packagesMonitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash activity for multiple propertiesSupport budgeting, variance analysis, and cash flow reporting for property portfoliosCoordinate with Property Management to resolve accounting discrepancies and tenant-related issuesAssist with audit requests, CAM reconciliations, and other accounting projects during the assignmentRequirementsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred2+ years of property accounting or general accounting experienceExperience with commercial or residential real estate accounting preferredProficiency in Microsoft Excel and property management/accounting systems such as Yardi, MRI, or similar platformsKnowledge of GAAP and month-end close processesStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsExcellent attention to detail and accuracyTagged as: In-OfficeDate Posted:Posted on August 6, 2026Location:New York, NY, USAJob Title:Property Accountant
