About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its innovative and impactful organization. The successful candidate will be a visionary leader with a strong commitment to advancing public health and innovation, particularly in the field of cancer research. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of the organization, with a focus on deepening statewide impact and elevating the company's leadership in cancer research. The Executive Director will be responsible for the overall strategy, operations, and impact of the organization, ensuring that all activities align with the enabling legislation, Board policies, and contractual agreements. Key responsibilities include advancing a clear vision, strengthening partnerships, and engaging with state elected officials, government agencies, and research institutions to sustain funding and promote the company's work. The ideal candidate will have a blend of strategic leadership, political acumen, and operational expertise, with a background in nonprofit leadership, public policy, and research or grantmaking environments. Emotional intelligence, exceptional interpersonal skills, and a sophisticated knowledge of healthcare delivery, policy, and finance are essential. The role requires a highly adaptable leader who can drive excellence, inspire staff, and cultivate relationships in a rapidly evolving healthcare environment. The Executive Director will also be accountable for translating legislative intent and Board priorities into actionable programs that deliver measurable outcomes for patients, communities, and the broader life sciences ecosystem.
