Purchasing Manager

Evan Richardson with Connexa Search Group is working with a well-established, privately held manufacturer in the Greenville area to find their next Purchasing Manager.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This role owns strategic sourcing, procurement, inventory control, and material planning for a metal fabrication manufacturing operation. You will ensure raw materials, components, and services are available to support uninterrupted production while optimizing inventory levels and improving supply chain efficiency. This is a highly visible role reporting to the Director of Manufacturing with direct influence over cost, working capital, and production continuity.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers for metals, equipment, components, and services based on quality, cost, and delivery performance

Negotiate pricing, terms, and long-term supplier agreements

Develop inventory strategies that optimize stock levels while minimizing carrying costs and obsolescence

Forecast material requirements using production schedules, customer demand, and historical usage

Conduct inventory audits, cycle counts, and reconciliations

Partner with production, engineering, and planning teams to align material availability with manufacturing schedules

Lead and develop inventory, warehouse, and materials personnel

WHAT YOU BRING

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field preferred

5+ years of experience in purchasing, inventory management, supply chain, or materials management

Experience in steel, metal fabrication, or industrial manufacturing strongly preferred

Strong understanding of raw material planning, commodity purchasing, and inventory control

Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and inventory software

Prior leadership experience managing warehouse, purchasing, or materials teams preferred
