Healthcare Unit Coordinator

Position Summary Health Care Unit Coordinator – New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS), Poughkeepsie, NY. Hours 5/8.5‑hour shifts, Monday‑Friday, 8:00am‑6:00pm. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and schedule chemotherapy, radiology, and specialist referrals for assigned locations, ensuring all required records are obtained. Communicate test instructions to patients, addressing questions or concerns before the procedure/test date. Collaborate with the Head Nurse to reschedule unscheduled chemotherapy and Shot Room appointments, verifying authorization before patient visits. Arrange hospital services such as admissions and transfusions. Obtain stat results (pathology, labs, radiology, clinical records) for physicians and nurses. Handle specialty requisitions (e.g., Caris, BRCA, Foundation One). Assist Front Desk with support as needed. Provide assistance to clinical staff by coordinating calls and facilitating physician‑to‑physician communication. Qualifications High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred. At least one year of unit coordinator experience preferred. Strong multitasking, customer service, time management, and attention to detail skills. Proficiency with Google Suites; EMR experience is a plus. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
