Lief Labs is located in the Santa Clarita Valley (Valencia, CA).Lead, Develop, and Drive ReliabilityLief Labs is looking for an experienced Maintenance Mechanic II who not only excels technically, but also takes pride in mentoring others, building team capability, and driving best practices in a fast-paced cGMP manufacturing environment.In this role, you'll take ownership of equipment reliability while serving as a go-to resource and informal leader on the maintenance team, guiding technicians, supporting operators, and helping elevate overall plant performance. You'll play a key role in developing preventative maintenance strategies, troubleshooting complex systems, and fostering a culture rooted in safety, quality, and continuous improvement.What You'll DoLead by example on the floor—modeling safe behaviors, strong troubleshooting practices, and a sense of ownershipMentor and support junior technicians and operators by transferring technical knowledge and developing skills across the teamTroubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment in a high-speed cGMP environment, minimizing downtimeDrive execution of Preventive, Predictive, and Corrective Maintenance programs to improve reliabilityPartner cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, and Engineering to:Conduct root cause analysis (5 Whys)Support change management and deviation investigationsImprove overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)Interpret and work from schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation (electrical, pneumatic, mechanical)Support equipment improvements, part fabrication, and continuous improvement initiativesEnsure accurate, timely completion of work orders and documentation in CMMS systems, maintaining cGMP compliancePromote and maintain 5S standards and an organized, audit-ready work environmentWhat You BringEducationHigh School Diploma or GED requiredExperience5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environmentExperience in cGMP or highly regulated environments preferredStrong background in break-fix troubleshooting and preventative maintenanceHands-on experience with PLC-controlled equipmentTechnical ExpertiseStrong knowledge of:Electrical systems (460 VAC 3-phase & 110 VAC control circuits)Mechanical systems, hydraulics, and fluid powerPLC troubleshooting and controlsOhm's Law and electrical diagnosticsAbility to perform complex electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic repairsLeadership & Professional SkillsProven ability to mentor, coach, and develop others on the floorStrong commitment to safety (LOTO) and quality systems in a cGMP environmentExcellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionallyHighly organized, adaptable, and able to prioritize in a fast-paced, production-driven settingContinuous improvement mindset with strong problem-solving skillsWork EnvironmentFast-paced cGMP manufacturing environment requiring strict adherence to quality and documentation standardsExposure to food-grade raw materials and common allergensModerate noise levels with regular interaction with production equipmentPhysical RequirementsActive, hands-on role requiring standing, walking, bending, climbing, and liftingAbility to lift up to 33 lbs occasionallyFrequent exposure to moving equipment, varying temperatures, and industrial conditionsWhy Lief Labs?Competitive pay: $35.50–$50.00/hourOpportunity to lead, mentor, and grow within a high-performing teamComprehensive benefits package:Medical, dental, and vision coverage401(k) with company supportLife insuranceWellness programsTuition reimbursementPaid time offAt Lief Labs, we're committed to building a culture where people develop, processes improve, and performance excels.
