Sterile Processing Supervisor

Gier Road St. Louis, MO 63127 Role Purpose Directs and supports sterile processing staff to provide quality, efficient, cost-effective decontamination, sterilization and distribution services with proper management of service utilization and inventory levels. Responsibilities Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership. Collaborates with other departments to ensure the appropriate professional standards are consistently applied. Provides decontamination and sterilization evaluation planning, operations and maintenance consultation to management at BJC organizations. Assists or manages the operations of unit services and integration with other departments. Provides input and may create effective work plans that include identifying the correct resources, processes and space needed for the work unit. Monitors surgery schedule of cases to assure proper instruments are available. May participate in the development of departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets and having direct responsibility for adhering to those goals. This includes responding to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
