About the Role The Construction Inspector I (Water) plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of water-related construction projects. This position involves conducting thorough inspections of water infrastructure such as pipelines, treatment facilities, and distribution systems to verify compliance with design specifications, codes, and regulatory standards. The inspector will collaborate closely with contractors, engineers, and project managers to identify and resolve issues promptly, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. By meticulously documenting inspection findings and maintaining accurate records, the inspector supports the integrity and longevity of vital water systems. Ultimately, this role safeguards public health and environmental standards by ensuring that water construction projects meet all required quality and safety benchmarks. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 2 years of experience of water related construction project inspections. Basic knowledge of construction methods and materials related to water infrastructure. Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical documents. Strong attention to detail and observational skills. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various construction sites. Preferred Qualifications Associate degree or certification in construction technology, civil engineering, or a related field. Experience with water utility construction inspection or related infrastructure projects. Familiarity with local, state, and federal water construction regulations and standards. Proficiency in using inspection and reporting software tools. OSHA safety certification or equivalent training. Responsibilities Perform detailed inspections of water construction projects including pipelines, valves, pumps, and treatment facilities to ensure adherence to project plans and specifications. Monitor construction activities to verify compliance with safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and industry standards. Document inspection results, prepare detailed reports, and communicate findings to project stakeholders for corrective action when necessary. Collaborate with contractors and engineers to resolve construction issues and provide technical guidance to maintain project quality. Conduct field tests and measurements to verify material quality and workmanship throughout the construction process. Skills The required skills enable the Construction Inspector I (Water) to accurately assess construction quality and compliance by interpreting technical plans and identifying deviations from standards.
