As an Analyst / Associate within the Portfolio and Monitoring Support Team at MUFG in London, your day-to-day responsibilities will centre around providing thorough support through diligent monitoring of borrower ratings, covenant set-up, condition tracking, waiver requests, and accurate reporting. You will be instrumental in reviewing transaction documentation for new deals or amendments, extracting covenants for ongoing oversight while ensuring all data is transposed correctly into internal systems. Your role involves assisting deal teams with fee notifications and accruals related to waivers under strict compliance controls. Building relationships across departments is key; you'll establish peer networks through regular stakeholder meetings that foster collaborative working. You'll also have the opportunity to drive process improvements that enhance efficiency while representing your team at internal forums. Training new colleagues both locally and internationally forms part of your remit as you help maintain high standards across the team. Success in this role requires meticulous attention to detail, responsiveness to deadlines, proactive engagement with colleagues, and a commitment to upholding MUFG's reputation for responsible banking.

• Monitor borrower ratings diligently to ensure all credit policies are adhered to without breaches or lapses in sanctions.


• Set up covenants and provide ongoing monitoring of conditions and instructions as determined by Credit Teams, reporting any breaches or outstanding covenants promptly.


• Perform accurate administrative tasks including reporting and due date control related to portfolio monitoring activities, managing operational risks efficiently.


• Review documentation for newly signed transactions and amendments, extracting covenants for monitoring while ensuring timely receipt of required information.


• Transpose data onto GCARS (Credit System) accurately according to deal specifics and bank credit policy requirements for credit applications and borrower ratings.


• Assist deal team members with fee notifications and accruals for waivers, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines as stipulated by SOX controls.


• Build relationships throughout MUFG by establishing peer networks, holding regular meetings with stakeholders, gathering relevant information, and promoting effective inter-departmental collaboration.


• Seek opportunities for process enhancements that increase efficiency, accuracy, and collaborative working across teams.


• Represent the Portfolio & Monitoring Team at internal forums or working groups as required, contributing to discussions that promote more effective working practices.


• Provide training support and check the work of new or junior team members in both London and Bangalore offices.

• A strong understanding of banking products and systems gained through relevant industry experience within financial services or banking environments.
• Experience working within a support team where collaborative efforts are essential for achieving shared goals.
• Proven expertise in loan documentation review and covenant monitoring processes that require accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Excel and Word enabling efficient handling of data management tasks associated with portfolio monitoring activities.
• Excellent communication skills allowing you to build dependable relationships across departments while sharing information clearly.
• A results-driven approach combined with accountability ensures tasks are completed accurately within tight deadlines.
• A proactive attitude towards problem-solving supported by structured thinking when prioritising workloads under pressure.
