Senior Oracle DBA For Applications

Candidates must be senior (10+ years, 15+ preferred) local to the New York or New Jersey area and commute into the city possibly one or two times a week (probably once a quarter) in Midtown, NYC. Candidates need to have heavy, recent AWS cloud experience. This is a next generation cloud DBA. No relocation considered. Please send candidates even if they are over the target rate. Client is flexible. Only send me candidates in the NY/NJ area. Within two hour commute. We need a senior Oracle DBA for applications with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) experience as well as cloud (AWS, etc) experience. This team is responsible for all of the website transactional data for every online order globally. H1 candidates are fine but they need great communication skills. Multi-tenant architecture, cloud (AWS, Oracle, GCP, Azure, etc) and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) will be a must.

Job Description

The Oracle Database Administration team is responsible for maintaining Oracle databases across the enterprise. This entails ensuring data is protected and accessible in a 24/7 environment.

Day to Day

• Manage all facets of the Oracle database system lifecycle
• Identify and resolve database related issues, determining root cause
• Monitor for performance, capacity, and space management
• Coordinate patching cycles with application teams and business partners
• Participate on projects as a team member
• Enforce database security policies and change management procedures
• Automate repetitive tasks

Must Haves

• Bachelor of Science in an IT related field or equivalent business and technical experience
• Multi-tenant architecture
• At least 8 years of Oracle database administration experience
• Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
• Cloud (AWS, Oracle, etc)
• Critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong desire for continuous learning
• Self-motivated
