What You ll Do

As a Veterinary Emergency Technician at HVSH, you ll be on the front line of urgent patient care, working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. In this role, you will:

• Triage incoming patients by assessing their medical needs and prioritizing treatments based on urgency.
\n
• Provide immediate critical care administer fluids, medications, and other life-saving interventions while closely monitoring patient status.
\n
• Collaborate with emergency veterinarians and fellow technicians to devise and execute treatment plans for a variety of acute and complex cases.
\n
• Communicate compassionately with pet parents , offering clear updates, reassurance, and empathy during stressful moments.
\n
• Maintain a calm, organized workspace and ensure rapid access to the supplies and equipment needed for emergency interventions.
\n
• Participate in ongoing training and case discussions , sharpening your skills and staying current with the latest emergency protocols and best practices.
\n

Anticipated Schedule

This is a full-time position with the following available schedule:

• 4 - 10 hour shifts

• Shifts range from 6a-9p
\n
• Some weekend availability needed
\n

Compensation

• Starting at $21/hr.
\n

• Experience in a fast-paced emergency or ICU setting , with a proven ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure.

• Effective communication for liaising with both clinical staff and concerned pet parents, especially in urgent or high-stress scenarios.

• Confidence in triage and rapid assessment , recognizing subtle changes in patient condition and acting decisively.
