Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for telemetry patients, including continuous rhythm monitoring, interpretation of alarms, and rapid response to changes in status.
• Administer medications and IV therapies per physician orders, including cardiac drips (e.g., Heparin, Lasix, Cardizem) and initiation of Tikosyn/Sotalol when appropriate.
• Collaborate with the health care team to develop and update individualized care plans; document accurately in the electronic medical record (EPIC).
• Perform routine assessments, ensure patient and family education, and maintain safety, infection prevention, and device management standards.
• Coordinate patient transitions within the unit and to adjacent acute care services as needed; participate in unit-wide orientation and continuous quality improvement activities.
• Willingness to float to all acute care units as needed per facility policies.

Requirements

• Active Kansas RN license
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 1 year of recent Telemetry experience; 2–5 years preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity telemetry environment and to float to all acute care units
• Education: RN degree from an accredited program
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR or similar systems; must complete credentialing steps promptly
